I had the opportunity to be the UX lead for an indy journalism app at a startup. During the discovery phase, one of the exercises was to conduct a need-finding exercise that would determine the business requirements for video editing features. I then did some paper prototyping exercises to test out some of the features such as intro/outro presets, lower third presets, video trimming, transitions and audio overlay. This ended up in an app that served many independent news journalists across the country, and pushing content to hundreds of news outlet web properties.
